FROM MORETON BAY TO YOUR MOUTH

Fresh is always best especially when it comes to oysters. Here at Straddie Oysters we believe in the farm to plate experience and ensure that all our Oysters are distributed fresh, and shucked on site at our venues right before you eat them

We are also passionate about teaching people the age-old art of Shucking so that everyone can enjoy the unique experience that comes with eating a freshly shucked oyster.

Our Oysters

We are a family run Oyster Farming Business with a vision for Moreton Bay, Queensland. To produce the finest quality organically grown rock oysters in the world. We want to make it possible for everyone in our region to have the opportunity to try this truly unique food.

Our oysters are an integral part of the health of Moreton Bay and supporting us supports the ecology of the bay.We provide oysters when in season to events, markets, restaurants and direct to the public.

Local & Sustainable Farming

Moreton Bay Sea Farms works hard to ensure the environment in which we work is kept healthy and organic to the native land of the Bay. We do our best in stocking the farm with wild caught spat native to our region which in turn reduces carbon emissions.

Our oysters are fed naturally through the currents of the bay from the Pacific Ocean meaning there are no additives in our waters. Oysters are self-feeding maintaining their organic quality and native taste to our region.

Unlike other oyster farms, the logistics of getting oysters to and from our farm are minimal. Due to our Fresh is Best policy we service the region of Southeast Qld which further reduces carbon emissions.

Our boats also have low emission motors and the processing facility is solar powered minimising usage of electricity. Oysters are an integral part of keeping the waters clean. Being master filter feeders, they remove heavy metals such as zinc and copper out of the water.
